Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Embedded Sensors Developments

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall electronic functionality of embedded sensors platform/product including translating customer specifications into electronic specifications. You will drive the development of the electronic boards of embedded sensors and coordinate design efforts across various supporting functions (E-Cad Engineers for PCAB Layout, Moddeling & Simulation Experts, EMI/EMC Experts, Mechanical integration of electronic functions, test & validation resources) from concept phase to product validation and launch in production.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Translate customer specification into electronic design specification, update and track corresponding compliance matrix.
  • Manage feasibility study and prototypes assembly when needed.
  • Design new electronic board and drive E-Cad Engineers for PCAB Layout and validate PCB layouts.
  • Create all quality documents (worst case, thermal calculations, ICT test specification, DFMEA, integration…).
  • Work out and evaluate functional safety concept and specify requirements for process steps like EOL teaching/calibration.
  • Drive peer reviews during the development of the electronic board, ensure meeting guidelines and contribute to their update or creation when required.
  • Coordinate efforts across engineering functions (Mechanical integration, Modeling & Simulation, EMI/EMC performances, test & validation) to make sure requested final performances are fulfilled.
  • Keep track of PCB manufacturing (sub-contractors, supplier) and conduct reviews when needed
  • Manage and execute electronic validations (functional, electrical, EMC, thermal,…)
  • Conduct analysis of faulty parts to find the failure’s root cause and take corrective actions,
  • Report progress on meeting customer requirements, performance, cost and deliverable dates on assigned projects.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risk associated to electronic boards on assignment projects
  • Perform benchmark analysis of IC available in the market and conduct IC characterization
  • Contributes to developing the IC Specification based on product requirements

What your background should look like:

  • Degree in a technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ASIC)
  • DFSS, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  •  Standards Knowledge - IATF 16949, EN 9100, ISO 9001, AEC-Q100
  •  Automotive Communication interfaces (LIN/CAN/SENT/PWM/Analog)
  • Automotive EMC Standards
  • Solid knowledge on onboard analog and digital electronics design.
  • Solid knowledge in sensors electronics, measurement & signal processing.
  • Functional Safety (FuSa) Knowledge and Expertise
  • Professional or personal experience in Embedded Software development (e.g. Ardino programming)
  • Experience in ASIC development

Vous Avez:


  • Maîtrise dans une discipline technique (génie électrique, électronique)
  • 4 à 7+ années d'experience dans le développement de cartes électroniques pour des produits de capteurs à travers le cycle de vie complet des développements (recherche et développement initial jusqu'au lancement en série) pour l'industrie automobile.
  • Expérience dans tous les aspects de la conception électronique automobile, du développement et du déploiement de produits automobiles ... Spécification électronique, conception, vérification fonctionnelle, vérification du circuit intégré, qualification et mise en service.
  • Expérience dans les interactions avec les fournisseurs d'électronique (vendeurs de composants, fabricants de PCB) pour le développement électronique.
  • Expérience dans les interactions avec les clients du secteur automobile pour le développement de produits de capteurs
  • Vous maîtrisez les outils de développement de la conception électronique et les outils de simulation. 
  • Vous avez un grand esprit d'équipe et êtes prêt à partager vos connaissances pour développer l'expertise des autres membres de l'équipe.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite et capacité à interagir de manière professionnelle avec la direction, les actionnaires, les équipes interfonctionnelles (ingénierie, gestion des produits, fabrication, qualité, achats, finances, ventes) et les experts en la matière.
  • Compétences exceptionnelles en matière d'analyse, de réflexion critique, de résolution de problèmes, et capacité à prendre des décisions face à une série de défis, de conflits et de contraintes.
  • Maîtrise de l'anglais
  • Volonté de voyager selon les besoins, ~15%.
