IoT Senior Software Development Engineer

Job Overview

In this position you will be part of the IoT team in the Sensor Solution Business Unit. This role will be based in Toulouse.

The mission of this role will be to define and develop embedded software to support TE Sensor Solutions wireless sensor portfolio as well as to increase knowledge sharing and awareness of TE Sensor Solutions IoT Wireless Sensors capabilities.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Define and develop software for wireless sensor prototype and product including existing TE technology or new technology.
  • Seek out and help analyze end customer requirement for new product opportunities to take advantages of TE Sensor Solutions expertise.


As part of the IoT team located in Toulouse, your tasks will be divided into :
-Road Map and Strategy

  • Provide comprehensive functional analysis of competiton Product & Applications to feed futur wireless sensor defintion
  • Have a comprehensive understand of emerging technology to help steering IoT Wireless sensor road map and initiate new wireless technology & systems.
  • Provide platform embedded software for Industrial IoT Wireless sensor


-Technical Support

  • Deploy embedded software architecture and new wireless technology
  • Collaborate to wireless product specification
  • Secure validation of developed software in time and cost target.
  • Help providing Partner and customer with demo including end-to-end solution, TESS wireless sensor drivers, API and GUI (Android/iOS) for easier wireless sensor evaluation and integration


-Knowledge Sharing and Awarness

  • Secure proper documentation / knowledge transmission to other TE engineering groups and TE BU 
  • Manage follow up of engineering details along project development
  • Participate to technical project review and secure proper software integration.
  • Participate to conferences, write papers and submit IP
What your background should look like:
  • Master’s or Engineering degree, ideally in embedded software development
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in embedded software development
  • Experience working with sensor products in industrial environment would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge in C / C++ / object-oriented programming, Python scripting
  • Knowledgeable about low power management techniques
  • BLE connectivity, LPWAN (Lorawan / Sigfox / NbIot) knowledge
  • Experience using GIT
  • Experience with continuous integration
  • Debugging knowledge
  • Knowledge in TCP/IP / HTTP / MQTT
  • iOS and Android application development skills would be a plus
  • Knowledge of wireless, IoT technology trends and ecosystem
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and cross team working skills
  • Fluent in English, French language skills will be beneficial


This role will require some international business travel.
