Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams are responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.

The EMEA Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing and improving the quality of a  EMEA external suppliers in his scope, primarily for all Wafer Fab category. He/She will also support additional commodities such as PCB/PCBA and passive and active E-components.   
This role ensures that material meets all applicable specifications, reliability standards, and performance requirements through structured supplier quality engineering practices in all phases of supplier quality management. This position can be based in some of our TE EMEA sensors factories, in hybrid mode, or remotely in Europe for senior candidates, reporting to the EMEA Sensors BU Supplier quality Senior manager.  It requires frequent travel to EMEA suppliers and TE factories in EMEA (30-40%). 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with assigned suppliers to organize and implement actions to assure delivery of products and/or services that meet established requirements and fulfills customer needs and expectations. 
  • Coach suppliers regarding Operational Excellence, Root Cause Corrective Action, Problem Solving, Lean Six Sigma etc. 
  • Lead, drive, and support root cause and corrective action investigations with the supply base 
  • Review and approve FAIRs, PPAPs, 8D reports, verify effectiveness of corrective actions 
  • Effectively facilitate supplier assessments/audits on time 
  • Maintain compliance to established procurement and quality systems 
  • Develop and oversee necessary supplier Zero Defect continuous improvement plans 
  • Lead initiatives and special projects assigned to support commodity and supply base improvements 
  • Implement plans to drive key metrics, such as cost of poor quality, supplier recovery, defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement/effectiveness, PPAP completion, audit execution and corrective and preventative action closure 
  • Analyzes data to identify chronic underperforming suppliers and establish a rhythm to monitor PDCA processes to ensure improvement. 
  • Ability to successfully interact within quality, engineering, design and manufacturing communities and the supply chain

Qualifications  

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent 
  • 5-10 years quality experience. 
  • Confirmed Industry experience in wafer fab, wafer foundry, and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSATS).  
  • Wafers and OSATSs quality requirements and specifications and PCN Categorizations  
  • Knowledge/experience in PCB / PCBA, passive and active E-components.  
  • IPC-600, IPC- 610, IPC-620 general certification knowledges 
  • VDA auditor certification.  
  • Root cause analysis/ Problem solving / Lean / Six Sigma acumen 
  • Knowledge of quality tools FAIR, PPAP, APQP, 8D etc. 
  • Knowledge of Automotive, Medical, Aerospace &/or Industrial standards (IATF, AS, ISO 9001, etc.) 
  • Results oriented, driven individual. 
  • Fluent in English. German and/or French is a plus.
