Data and Devices Channel Field Sales Engineer
The Data and Devices (DND) business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for an experienced field Sales Engineer (SE) responsible for the Latin America market.  The successful candidate will be responsible for growing DND product sales thru TE Connectivity’s distribution channel.  The SE will serve as the local technical resource for customer engineers and program/platform managers as well as our distributor field application engineers and sales teams by providing product knowledge, technical expertise, product application information and overall business support. They will be the local point of contact and establish relationships with distributor teams and key engineering stakeholders at channel served customers.  They will work with cross-functional teams in product management, development and manufacturing, sharing a thorough understanding of customer requirements and design requests. The SE will provide technical assistance, application guidance, training, and presentations to introduce TE technologies and products that meet customer needs and be a significant interface among our distributor partners and channel served customers.

What your background should look like:

Key Job Responsibilities:
•    Function as the technical interface between the customer’s engineers and the TE product management and engineering community on existing products and new product development opportunities
•    Interact directly with customers and coordinate the deliverables related to customer projects including new products, modifications to existing products, product specifications and any other development efforts
•    Establish relationships with customer engineering contacts and decision makers
•    Work closely with sister BU sales teams to broaden the exposure and penetration of DND products into other BU direct customer designs resulting in revenue through local territory CMs
•    Gain print position and competitive conversion at local CMs
•    Achieve a solid understanding of TE DND product portfolio and new product launch roadmap
•    Work with customers to understand their product sets and future roadmaps, identify opportunities to solve problems and recommend products for new and existing applications
•    Influence distributor partner sales teams and FAE’s to promote TE interconnect solutions above other potential solutions
•    Support distribution market managers (DMMs) to drive mindshare and promotion of DND products among distributor teams
•    Create awareness of product opportunities across various applications through opportunity identification sessions, branch training and joint customer visits with distributor field sales representatives
•    Drive indirect distributor sales performance and meet sales targets by reviewing assigned distributor performance with branches including top/bottom customers, GPL trends, new product performance and competitive cross reference activities
Must have demonstrated experience in the following:
•    Ability to leverage engineering competency, to understand customer requirements directly related to interconnect, sockets and cable assemblies
•    Fundamental understanding of connector design and mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing techniques
•    Excellent oral, written and presentation skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization
•    Self-motivated with a desire to work independently and mastery of time management among competing priorities 
•    Proven ability to track sales across complex global and domestic supply chains
•    Deep market knowledge regarding customers in assigned geography: Latin America
•    Proven experience in problem solving and analytical skills
•    Outstanding networking, influencing and listening skills
•    Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership
•    Strong interpersonal & negotiating skills
•    SFDC experience 
Minimum Requirements:
•    BS degree in Engineering or BA/BBA with a focus in Business, Management or Marketing
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical field sales
•    Experience working with Distribution (Channel) preferred REQUIRED
•    Sales/Engineering experience in the connector industry a plus
•    Experience working with MS Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook
•    Must be willing and able to travel a minimum of 50% of the time
