Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducts and supervises the development of policies and procedures for obtaining all materials, components, equipment, and services required by the factory, with the objective of achieving optimal quality, price, distribution, and services
- Manages and supervises the development of policies and procedures for optimizing the flow of material from the site, from the supplier, production and to the customer
- Complies with the health, safety and environmental rules required by the Romanian legislation in force as well as the relevant procedures established by TE
- Maintains an effective balance between the costs of purchasing and storing materials, to minimize changes in the workforce and maximize the recovery of the investment in the capital from inventory
- Escalates problems according to the escalation matrix in force; triggers, leads, and participates in actions to solve the problems effectively, in accordance with the procedures in force
- Ensures that all activities supporting transfers of production lines and supply processes are according to the plan and budget established; hires the appropriate staff
- Provides support to the Purchasing Department in setting policies and directions to follow, in order to meet contractual requirements related to price reduction obligations
- Determines and tracks the annual operational objectives and departmental targets, and the performance indicators related to them, taking all the necessary measures to meet these indicators
What your background should look like:
- Engineering degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar
- Several years of experience in Supply Chain & Planning
- Preferably good knowledge and experience in automotive industry
- Knowledge of Operations, Manufacturing and Supply Chain processes
- Strong understanding of SAP
- Strong analytical skills (Excel)
- Strong communication skills
