MATERIALS PLANNING ANALYST II

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What your background should look like:

  • Functions

    •    Plan and execute detailed planning based on the messages from the MRP system.
    •    Attend on timely manner Sales Orders blocks and exception messages.
    •    Keep the dates in system up to date to reflect true availability of FG.
    •    Keep levels of overdue orders low, tracking variations and generating actions to control or prevent it if needed
    •    Keep the demand analysis of at least 6 weeks to prevent possible problems on capacity or raw materials in the short term.
    •    Keep the hours of the WPS loaded based on the given capacity for the area. 
    •    Daily review of the production orders to assure the plan completion.
    •    Weekly monitoring and fill up on delivery metrics for production cells assigned.
    •    Follow up and meet commitments to any internal or external customer.
    •    Analysis and proposal of safety stock levels to meet the changing sales trends.
    •    Must be able to communicate to all related personnel involved in the problem solution process.
    •    Maintain the multifunctional team philosophy.
    •    Identify areas of improvement and implement preventive and corrective actions for the MPS (Master Planning Schedule)
    •    Work closely with the supply team to improve material flow.
    •    Maintain an inventory that is cost efficient yet promotes a high customer service level.
    •    Coordinate with logistics and the distribution center to ensure on-time deliveries.
    •    Maintain planning related parameters for any part number assigned.
    •    Able to find the necessary resources to support the detailed planning process.
    •    All other activities that are needed to comply with the function or assignments given by supervisor or manager.


    Skills

    •    5 years working as a planner
    •    SAP experience is desirable.
    •    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    •    Leadership skills for a multifunctional production/logistics team.
    •    Strong to do analysis, projects, and presentations.
    •    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    •    Must be results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
