Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Traffic Administration Teams are responsible for the coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments. They ensure lowest cost transportation is used by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performance. They also interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities :

  • Ensure an optimal transportation setup for outbound & inbound flows with well utilized trucks, appropriate frequencies and transit times
  • Drive freight optimization initiatives (standard & premium) 
  • Project related rate negotiations with TE core carriers
  • Run supply chain scenarios to support decisions on transportation setups. 
  • Consider Intra Regional (Europe & Africa) as well as Intercontinental (APAC & Americas) transportation flows 
  • Continuous premium freight monitoring & self-driven intervention/follow up with assigned carriers and other functions
  • Ongoing close collaboration with TE’s planning & customer solution teams as well as the EMEA transportation teams
  • Developing metrics for transportation analysis
  • Providing recommendations based on data analyses and research

What your background should look like:

 

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor or Master's degree preferably. Ideally in economics, supply chain or logistics
  • Transportation/Logistics education and profound business experience of 3-5 years
  • Strong knowledge of the Transportation/Logistics industry and operations

  • Ability to lead and manage projects in close collaboration with other functions
  • Strong time management
  • Powerfulness to effectively communicate between different functions
  • Competent in customs formalities
  • Pragmatic, confident, convincing, self-reliant, self-assertion & team player
  • Systematic, well structured, goal-directed, autonomous working ethos
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures
  • English - fluent
  • Experienced to work with SAP and other ERP systems, ASSIST4 and TMS systems 
  • Advanced knowledge on MS Office tools, especially Excel
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint
