Job Overview
Your main tasks
Design, test and implement creative & cost-effective packaging schemes for new and existing products
Seek out, identify, evaluate, and implement material, labor, efficiency, transportation & storage cost savings opportunities within ICT
Implement current AIAG standards and testing methods

Maintain packaging data and packaging material drawings in TE systems
Work closely with Manufacturing, Materials, other engineering disciplines, Distribution Center, Component Warehouse, Product Managers and Procurement team members to establish packaging strategy or troubleshoot packaging problems both internally & externally
Disposition packaging inventory when conducting improvement activities
Optimize packaging quantities, effectively balancing cost optimization with product protection
Assume packaging design ownership, and keep under effective change management, the product labeling/ marking added directly to products or to product packaging
Coordinate the appropriate addition of agency approvals on labeling
Apply hands on as well as intellectual approaches for various tasks relating to packaging design, testing and problem resolution
Collect, understand & analyze the CSR for customer restricted parts & create the packaging specification as per the requirement
Work with the packaging suppliers to request quotations & order packaging components samples.
Ensure the packaging sustainability, environmental & regulatory policies are adhered to
Your ideal background
Engineering degree in a Industrial, Mechanical or similar field
Min 5 years of experience in Packaging
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to interpret prints and drawings
Experience with lab and various mechanical testing equipment
MSOffice suite applications experience
Able to multitask and work well with others in fast paced manufacturing environment
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
Able to work well individually without need of constant direct supervision & also as a part of team
Experience working with outside suppliers
Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISTA, ISO…)
Demonstrable proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo, Catia…)

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
