Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety requirements and wear required PPE at all times in production areas

  • Ensure raw material availability and promptly communicate any shortages to the team leader

  • Verify that workstations are properly identified and in good condition

  • Update the Hydra system with production data as per the defined sequence

  • Start, restart, and shut down presses as needed

  • Record mold history information

  • Complete production report cards

  • Perform visual inspection of molded products using appropriate measuring equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas following the 5S+1 standard

  • Enter setup parameters into injection molding presses based on mold requirements

  • Perform TPM walkarounds and complete the process control sheet

  • Continuously monitor the process and check for leaks or process deviations

  • Package finished products according to the packing process sheet, including weigh counting

  • Complete all required documentation related to production, scrap, downtime, issues (Factory Order log), maintenance requests, and labor reporting

  • Troubleshoot process-related issues

  • Apply SMED during mold changeovers

  • Train new operators and ensure proper onboarding to operational standards

What your background should look like:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BAC) or higher preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production, preferably in injection molding or similar processes
