PRODUCT/TEST TECHNICIAN

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

What your background should look like:

Analyses the test requests
o Analyse the specifications and Test plan.
o Propose a validation plan
o Defines the test methods
o Identify the tools and accessories to perform the tests according to the SWI of the required test method.
➢ Performs the tests
o Preparation of the samples (measurements points…)
o Machinery programming
o Test fixture preparation or identification (Can work on CAD).
o Performs the tests as per TE/ Customer specifications or international specs (CEI..).
o Performs specific tests for product validation and qualifications (Mechanical, Climatic test sequences, electrical ageing test, vibration ageing tests, sealing tests)
➢ Collects and analyses test results
o Synthesises all results
o Comments and discuss about test results for product improvement and /or modification
o Records all observations in order to constitute the technical file in order to update the product file.
➢ Responsible to the lab documentation associated to the test request
o Writes the test reports (Crl, PV, R).
o Files the lab document into the lab data base
o Comments/and answers all questions from the test requester to report them.
o Can launch some more new tests after discussion with the engineering and lab management
o Can propose improvement on the Lab area.
➢ Insures the good working order of the test equipments
o Identifies the equipment failure
o Insures maintenance First Level and allowed maintenance possible.
o Informs the personal of the lab in charge of the maintenance interface with the supplier
o Insures 5S+1 in the Lab area.
BAC Technologic, Scientific or BAC professional with some experience
➢ BAC+2 (BTS /DUT) in Mechanics, electrotechnic, electronic, electromechanical and “mesures physiques”.
➢3to 5 years experience in various Technical environment (Laboratory ideally)
➢ Beginner can be accepted under supervision
