Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Long Description

Management :

- Insure the interface with HR.
- Assist to HR partners needs related to direct team.
- Assure the Hiring and integration /Onboarding process.
- Analyze needs of capacity with generative Data.
- Manage Hiring with HR.
- Assure the Annual review with all the team members including the Mid-year and assistance to Performance and development objectives.
- Participate to the sallary review of team members.
- Propose an annual training plan.
- Assure the follow-up with universities regarding students.
- Work to deploy the department strategy within the team.
- Follow KPI’s of the team related to the and establish an action plan for improvement.
- Follow team interaction.

Technical :
- Assure the technical liaison with the laboratory in term of customer specification.
- Participate to possible shows related to suppliers and customers.
- Interface with requestors (Marketing/Quality/ Customers).
- Manage the requests.
- Support the team to study the feasibility.
- Manage the Load.
- Distribution of requests to the right team members.
- Improve the reporting / Planning follow up according to projects milestones (Transfer/Duplication/NPD …).
- Can be Subject Matters expert within the team.
- Drive technical knowhow development withing the team.
- Take also the responsibility as a development Engineer for new products , proposing to automotive customers connection products that assuring different requested function according to the customers’ demands and required specifications.

- Conception: Feasibility, respect of Norms and procedures.
- Quality: Specify products assuring performances requested by the customer and related specification.
- Timeline: Realize projects conception in negotiated lead times.
- Cost: Create taking in account the revenue objective.
- Contribute on success of final selling (TERP of the project).
The Supv/Engineer is proposing, realizing, supervising technical solutions, CAD models, drawings of details, Assembly drawings and sub assembly drawings, based on assembly, schematics, or specifications:
Execute or/and supervise different plans and schematics necessary for constitution of complete technical folder.
The engineer guarantees the technical feasibility of proposed solutions taking in consideration knowhow of customer, constraints of Tools & Dies and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Use Norms, knowhow on Technical Manufacturing of materials used in the products definition.
- Establish or/and supervise the functional quotations and transactional/Functional analysis of parts assembly and chains dimensions (Stack up analysis).
- Establish calculations related to materials resistances for good parts dimensioning.
- Study the calculations made by Finite Elements (FEM) and participate on the choice of taking solution.


What your background should look like:

Engineer degree in Mechanical/Electromechanical/Microtechnics Engineering.
Experience in Engineering function required: Study, laboratory, Methods / Planning in a multinational industries.
Knowhow in material resistance.
Knowhow on cutting, molding, plasturgy, Conception, CAO, Plastics and metals, with surface treatment is a plus.
