Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Participate & Implement regional procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within the industry.
• Ensure that purchasing policy processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs, regarding price, quality and delivery targets, to optimize performance and productivity.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Establish , Review and Manage contracts with suppliers and ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms while maintaining quality standards.
• To manage and negotiate annual increases proposed by suppliers, ensuring that the proposed increase is market related.
• Use appropriate resources (including Supplier Development) to ensure supplier partnerships and delivery of sourced products.
• Manage relationships with suppliers. Select and develop new suppliers.
• Build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry.
• Provide management reports, key performance data and monitor cost.
• Ensure parts are sourced in full and aligned to production schedules and customer requirements.
• Lead cross-functional project for localization and outsourcing.
• Lead and track annual cost saving project.
• Ensuring full TE compliance respect.
What your background should look like:
• Master’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, in direct procurement for cable assembly activity.
• Project management capabilities.
• Understanding of the supply chain and value chain in the automotive industry.
• Contract Negotiation: Proven track record in negotiating contracts for direct goods and services in the automotive industry.
• Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and quality to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships in the automotive industry.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, and address non-performance issues.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
