Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities: 
•Manage one or more New Product Development projects following the LEANPD process, with a focus on launching new products on time and within budget.
•Manage resources:  
oEnsure the project is “staffed for success”.   
oNegotiate with functional managers and Project Approval Committee (PAC) to alleviate resource constraints as needed. 
•"Discipline the System":
oClearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities to all team members on a regular basis ensuring that the team is operating according to the development process. 
oManage project scheduling and gap closure requirements as needed by holding team members accountable. 
oEnsure project progress and deliverables are achieved across all business functions to ensure compliance with LEANPD Stage Gate process. 
oReport out project status to PAC following contract date.
•Proactively monitor project execution with specific emphasis on providing early warnings to detect, develop, and implement corrective action plans where required.
•Resolve project conflicts and establish escalation path on all projects. 

Required Skills/Experience: 
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or equivalent working experience.
•5+ years working experience in project management or equivalent.
•Strong and thorough knowledge of project management techniques and tools. 
•Proficient in using Microsoft project Gant charts to track and manage project schedules. 
•Demonstrated ability to create effective project plans, risk management, uncertainty management. 
•Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication.
•Ability to work in a global environment – able to accommodate varying time zones and capable of collaborating with individuals across geographies.
