Job Overview
Responsibilities:
• Considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in TW Customs Regulations
• Execute all aspects of the TW Customs Compliance for the Customs & Corporate Services Center, including Customs broker management, valuation, audit activities, Customs program support and other shared Customs services.
• Maintain TE operations and compliance activities in accordance with applicable customs and import laws and regulations, TE policies, procedures, and controls, in collaboration with GTS Governance Team, and other service areas.
• Maintain Service Level Agreements with Global Trade Services Operational Compliance teams, including Segment, and Business Unit leads, to ensure sound and consistent business practices and broad company awareness to Customs and Corporate Services requirements.
• Leading customs audits directly and indirectly in TW. Define and execute corrective action plans.
• Monitor and maintain customs simplified procedures and program statuses for TE Legal entities in TW.
• Design and leverage trade data analytics to identify compliance risks, cost-savings opportunities, and other metrics of value and effectiveness.
• Contribute to strategic projects focused on enhancing capabilities of TE's systems impacted by customs considerations to drive efficiencies and cost savings for the company.
• Partner with GTS Governance to monitor trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes, assess the potential impact to the business, and determine the necessary actions and communications with the appropriate stakeholders.
• Partner with GTS Governance to review competitive contracts, evaluate scope of services and ensure that TE receives best-in-class partners, services, and systems.
• Conduct periodic planning sessions in collaboration with GTS Governance, and Operational Compliance teams to align on strategy, results, and opportunities.
Interprets laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

In addition, successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
• Bachelor's degree required (international relations, supply chain, law, or related field preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in international trade, focusing primarily on TW trade compliance and management of Customs imports programs.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in communications, industrial, or transportation industries
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in functional leadership or senior management
• Functional knowledge of customs I/Export & in/outbound topics across TW.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and administer effective trade compliance policies and processes into business operational practices.
• Proven ability to build trust and interact seamlessly with a variety of business groups in a dynamic global organization.
• Proven ability to execute and provide results despite challenges and setbacks.

• Experience in working with team remotely and visiting the site for on the ground support/guidance.
• Experience in the cooperation of the corporate functional team and the BU operational team in TW.
• Understand the customs valuation methods and risky areas.
• Understand the Export Control regulations and framework in TW and US/EU.
• Experience in the tariff classification and relevant procedure.
• Experience in the communication with the local authorities in charge of the cross-border business and import license applications.
• Direct management of the brokerage agency including KPI review and RFQ renew, including centralized day-to-day declaration.
• Experience in the communications with TW Customs for daily consulting and advance ruling application.
• Training for the BUs and the audience in the region
• Experience of the global logistics and warehouse operation, in TW, is a plus.
• Exposure or remote work in the APAC region is a plus, e.g., HK.
• Customs authorized broker is a plus.
• Some travel may be necessary in fulfillment of responsibilities 15-30%.
