Job Overview
A Customer Process (Mfg.) Engineer serves as a critical technical liaison between TE Connectivity and its customers, ensuring that TE’s interconnect products are effectively integrated into our customer’s manufacturing environments. This role focuses on driving customer satisfaction and product performance by bridging TE’s product development efforts with real-world application needs in high-speed interconnects and connectivity solutions.
Job Requirements
- • Needs to be excellent communicator, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with global internal teams and customers.
• Establish key customer care abouts and contributes & reviews the product requirements.
• Conducts joint design reviews between TE and customers during product development cycles to ensure product specifications are properly defined (Design Objectives).
o Ability to work with local FAE and Product teams on new concepts.
• Develops expertise in how TE products are applied inside Customer’s manufacturing processes. Translates learnings to TE product design teams, assisting with crafting TE Application Spec documents. Collaborates early and aligns with customers on TE’s final Application Spec. Conducts signoff review between TE and Customer for NPI products.
• Works with TE engineering to integrate customer application parameters into TE product and application specifications.
• Creates application notes, training materials, or documentation to help customers understand how to use TE products. Provides product application training.
o Provides internal training to TE product and FAE groups showing new technologies that our customer base is utilizing or experimenting with for future development.
• Assists customers with Test methodologies to test TE products. Ensures TE test methodologies are consistent with Customer’s.
• Provides onsite support during multiple NPI stages. Ensures feedback is provided to TE design engineers.
o Assess/collaborate with customer ‘s manufacturing teams during product design phase.
o Troubleshoot technical issues that customers encounter with TE products during trials and production.
o Must understand the SMT processes, pick and place equipment, robotics, cable routing and general PCB processes and procedures.
What your background should look like
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering required, 6-10 years of experience – design/field. Must be able to read and speak for bi-lingual (Mandarin, English).
• Experience with design reviews, tolerance analysis, and root cause problem-solving.
• Experience in PPAP and production startup.
• Ability to assist the Quality group in understanding potential areas of concern and the ability to relay data back to the product teams.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relative to interconnect.
• Proficiency in Creo, Ansys, and test lab equipment.
• Must be able to travel within Taiwan (mostly) and sometimes Asia countries.
