Senior Import/Export Specialist

Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Traffic Administration Teams are responsible for the coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments. They ensure the lowest cost transportation is used by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performance. They also interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

Responsibilities

 

  • Arranging various modes of transport (air/road/sea) based on destination country and customers’ requirements,
  • Familiarity with export and import processes and customs procedures,
  • Preparing all necessary export documentation (export declarations, certificates of origin, ATR.1, EUR1) in cooperation with an in-house customs broker,
  • Familiarity with import customs clearance documentation, import post entry check control,
  • Foreign trade agreements identification and implementation,
  • Ensuring complete compliance with all foreign trade regulations,
  • Preparing freight costs analysis and looking for freight savings opportunities based on the analysis results,
  • First point of contact for customers and customer service,
  • High degree of interaction with production/warehouse leaders to improve shipping schedule based on demand.
     

Requirements

 

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with local and EU export control requirements
  • Solid knowledge of and experience in implementing freight forwarding and customs regulations
  • Ability to work independently and take complete responsibility for the execution of export orders
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Advanced English
  • SAP knowledge is preferable but not mandatory
