Job Overview

TE Swindon are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the Process Engineering team working in the Wire and Cable Plant. The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to work closely with Operations, Product Development and Product Management to initiate and implement product, process and manufacturing improvements whilst assisting in day to day resolution of manufacturing issues.


  • Deliver ongoing improvements to processes, procedures and products, with a view to improving overall site productivity
  • Collate and analyse data to provide solutions to Production and Technical problems
  • Ensure product costings, standards and documentation is accurate
  • Ensure all process changes are controlled and appropriately documented according to business procedures
  • Ensure customer complaints are answered and resolved with robust solutions within business time frames
  • Support the Technical, Planning and Production managers through regular communication of project plans, ideas and delivery
  • Lead and facilitate an improvement culture to achieve continuous improvement programmes
  • Address in process quality issues and non-conformances in products
  • Attend daily Operations meetings and assist in the resolution of day to day business issues
What your background should look like:
  • HNC or Degree Qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing Electrical Engineering
  • Time Served Experience working in a Wire and Cable business
  • Demonstrated understanding of Process/Manufacturing IT systems
  • Six Sigma qualified; Green belt level or above desirable but not essential
  • 8D Problem Solving is desirable
  • IOSHH qualification is desirable
  • Flexibility to work on a number or projects and ability to prioritise
  • Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude towards driving change
