Job Overview

 

TE Automotive continues to see extensive growth and expansion in the hybrid and electric mobility solutions (HEMS) market.  Due to this continued growth an exciting opportunity to join the UK Automotive Product Engineering team in Swindon has arisen.  This role is for a validation and test Technician focused on delivering customner production verification testing on HEMS products, more specifically PHEV and BEV charger inlet assemblies.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

Key Tasks

 

  • Complete validation testing on HEMS products in line with customber and market requirements
  • Work closely with other automotive laboratories in the EMEA region (some travel will be required)
  • Feedback progress reports to relevant OEM teams
  • Accurate record keeping and report writing
  • Interpretation of specifications and test methods
  • Maintain EH&S standards within the laboratory
  • Support Customer Engineering TEOA activities
  • Assist with protection products, wire and cable projects as business need requires

 

Qualifications & Experience required

 

  • Qualification in Engineering, technical or scientific discipline e.g. Level 2 or 3 City and Guilds or BTEC level
  • Knowledge of test techniques and methods (electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical), electrical/electronic preferred
  • Understanding of automotive electrical systems would be advantagious but not essential
  • Be practical and have a hands on approach to problem solving
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have initiative, be flexible and have the ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Experience of running qualification test programmes would be desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight and challenging deadlines
  • Experienced in technical report writing, excellend record keeping
  • Good working knowledge of MS packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
