The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Role Statement:
Reporting to the Plant Manger, the challenge is to successfully manage the Material Plant Operations processes that will  improve our Quality, Cost and Delivery performance.

Leading and driving teams to meet and exceed performance targets in a highly pressurised environment; overall responsibility encompasses managing 3 shifts Monday to Friday with a significant number of weekend overtime shifts.

Key tasks of the job:

• Manage the behaviour and motivation of all team shift leaders through regular individual assessment and coaching.
• Efficiently use labour to maximise efficiency and match demand.
• Ensure the required output and product quality standards set are achieved and regularly report back performance.
• Develop capability of shift managers, process technicians and machine operators.
• Actively promote improved housekeeping and safe working practices.
• Ensure that continuous improvement activities are identified and  driven to completion.

Qualifications & specialist training required:

• Minimum qualification degree.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing techniques of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, TPM or the equivalent

Experience required:

• Minimum 5 years experience of operating in a similar role.
• This experience should have been gained within a shift based environment
• Proven ability to manage people

Particular skill / aptitude required:

• Experience in a wide variety of manufacturing processes; developed a fundamental understanding of the key requirements to lead Continuous Improvement in a broad range of manufacturing models. 
• Experience of Project Management / Project Execution.
• Experience of delivering manufacturing solutions.
• The ability to communicate effectively, work within cross functional teams, assimilate data and lead decision making.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Good understanding of software packages including Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Be familiar with the current requirements of the industrial Quality requirements. i.e ISO 9000/14000/18000
