Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Power Connector Engineering team develops high-current connector interfaces for next-generation data centers, servers, power shelves, rack architectures, and power-distribution systems. The Staff Engineer is a senior technical contributor who leads complex connector-development work from customer need and concept through design, validation, industrialization, and release.
Job Requirements
- Lead high-current power connector and platform development from feasibility through production release.
- Translate customer and system needs into clear, testable engineering requirements.
- Develop connector concepts that balance electrical, thermal, mechanical, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and safety needs.
- Drive design reviews, DFMEAs, tolerance analysis, verification planning, and evidence-based technical decisions.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for difficult design, qualification, manufacturing, and customer issues.
- Build reusable platforms, design methods, and engineering standards across customers and product families.
- Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, laboratories, and customers while mentoring less-experienced engineers.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Materials, or a related engineering discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience; Master’s with at least 6 years; PhD with at least 3 years; or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and releasing complex electromechanical products through a structured product-development process.
- Strong capability in connector or related high-current product design, 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, validation, reliability, and design for manufacturing.
- Ability to lead complex technical work, communicate a defensible engineering position, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong ownership, collaboration, mentoring, and communication skills in a fast-moving global environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience with electrical connectors, power distribution, data-center hardware, servers, busbar systems, cable assemblies, high-current thermal performance, materials and plating, simulation, agency testing, or customer-facing technical support.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $143,500 - 179,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
