Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work closely with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existingapplications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-siteinstallation and service of product. They oversee all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customerneeds, including identifying opportunities; finding solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support;ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems andequipment.The Aerospace Defense and Marine (ADM) business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Field Application Engineer in the St. Louis, MO area to assist key customers in the Central US. The business unit has found that, for our key customers, having knowledgeable engi-neeringpresence locally is critical to long-term success in assisting our customers’ product and design needs and in advancing our Company’s inter-ests.The FAE will serve as a technical resource for our customers’ engineers and program / platform managers by providing technical expertise, design work,product application information, and general assistance for strategic customers. The selected engineer will be a significant interface between TEConnectivity’s sales and engineering organizations and our customers.

Job Requirements
- Be the initial point of contact for customer’s local engineering group
- Function as the technical interface between the customer’s engineers and the TE engineering community on all existing products as well as focus onnew product development opportunities
- Actively contribute to new product development opportunities for TE at the customer with the ability to provide conceptual design modeling
- Interact directly with key customers daily and coordinate the deliverables related to customer projects including new products, modifications toexisting products, test studies, signal integrity modeling, and any other development efforts
- Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers
- Gain a solid understanding of customer’s product set and future roadmap
- Gain a solid understanding of TE ADM products and future roadmap
- Use VOC (Voice of Customer) tools to understand the accounts’ technology, strategic direction, and electronic connectivity needs. Convey the needsto internal TE Connectivity teams to initiate projects
- Assist a cross-functional, global team specific to the customer. The team may consist of a Program Manager, Quality Engineering, Logistics,Procurement, Operations, and Sales.
- Penetrate customers’ design cycle to be involved in the early stages of new product / platform planning
- Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure that they are meeting the customers’ needs and be a conduit to the customer
- Represent and be an advocate for the customer
- Assist product & process qualifications
- Assist existing applications and products including tolerance analysis, application evaluation, and testing
What your background should look like
- BS degree in Engineering required (Electrical / Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
- At least 4 or more years of engineering experience in a Military or Aerospace Environment
- Knowledge of electronic components, including TE product lines (connectors, relays, sensors, wire & cable)
- Knowledge of high reliability system architecture in aircraft and defense subsystems ranging from LRU’s, high speed copper and FO cabling,sensor systems and interconnects
- Experience in development engineering and participation in full product development cycle
- Proficient in 3D Design Applications; Creo, Solid Works, SpaceClaim, AutoCAD etc.
- Experience reading/interpreting production level drawingsAbility to perform basic tolerance analysis and design for manufacturing
- Familiar with machining and 3D printing for rapid prototype development
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize
- Strong interpersonal & negotiating skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, mainly regionally
- Successful candidates will have strong ability to work independentlyOutstanding networking, influencing, and listening skills

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $105,000 - 1$40,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
