Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Director, General Management (Edge / IoT) to lead and scale a $450M segment within the DDN portfolio. This role requires a highly strategic and commercially driven leader with deep expertise in Edge AI and IoT technologies. You will own full P&L responsibility and lead a global, cross-functional organization, including direct oversight of product management and engineering. This leader will define and execute a compelling five-year vision, expanding the business into adjacent markets and applications while driving sustained, profitable growth.
Operating in a highly visible and impactful capacity, you will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Strategy to align priorities and deliver results. The role requires strong executive presence and the ability to engage and influence senior leadership, including C-suite stakeholders, while navigating a dynamic, global, matrixed environment. The ideal candidate brings a balance of customer obsession, technical depth, and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to scale businesses and lead through complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a global, multi-level, cross-functional team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and continuous talent development while building a strong leadership pipeline across the organization.
- Own the full P&L for the Edge / IoT segment, with responsibility for delivering ambitious revenue growth and margin expansion targets.
- Define and execute the overall Edge & IoT market strategy, including prioritization of key applications, customer segments, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Develop and operationalize a five-year strategic roadmap integrating core technologies such as antennas, connectors, sensing, computing, and Edge AI enablement.
- Drive market segmentation efforts to identify high-growth, high-margin verticals and guide the organization toward the most attractive opportunities within the Edge ecosystem.
- Lead the development and execution of product roadmaps aligned to targeted segments, ensuring speed to market, differentiation, and strong customer value propositions.
- Evaluate and implement Make vs. Buy vs. Partner strategies to accelerate expansion into new technologies, capabilities, and adjacent markets.
- Define and operationalize a comprehensive go-to-market strategy across key verticals such as edge and colocation data centers, industrial automation, smart cities, medical devices, robotics, energy/EV, and consumer IoT.
- Build and scale a robust partner ecosystem, including semiconductor vendors, ODMs, module providers, distributors, and system integrators, to accelerate innovation and shorten design-in cycles.
- Enable Sales and Marketing teams with clear segmentation, value propositions, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies to expand pipeline and improve conversion rates.
- Drive a product-led go-to-market approach by aligning the portfolio to rapid design cycles, reference platforms, and solution kits that accelerate customer adoption.
Represent the business in executive forums, customer engagements, and industry settings, delivering clear, compelling communication of strategy, performance, and growth opportunities.
What your background should look like:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in general management, product management, or product line leadership, supported by a strong technical or engineering foundation.
- Proven track record of owning and scaling a $200M+ P&L within IoT, industrial, Edge computing, or related technology markets.
- Deep expertise across Edge AI, cloud, IoT ecosystems, and enabling technologies such as antennas, connectors, and embedded systems.
- Demonstrated success defining and executing product strategies, launching successful products, and driving measurable business impact.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience navigating complex deal structures, ecosystem partnerships, and global market dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams within a global, matrixed organization, driving alignment and execution without direct authority in all areas.
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
- Inclusive, growth-oriented leadership style with a strong enterprise mindset and commitment to developing high-performing teams.
- Highly adaptable and resilient, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, drive change, and deliver results in fast-paced, evolving markets.
