Job Overview

Global AUT demonstrates a $3.1B spending with manufacturing footprints in EMEA, AMS and AP. Continuous improvement thru entire supply base is heavily required: 1) to generate productivity supporting strong business result; 2) to reinforce TE’ leading position on the market both from technical and commercial perspective; 3) to ensure whole supply chain capability which makes TE differentiates from competitors.

 

The person in this position reports to VP Procurement. Focus on developing and managing supplier base cost improvement initiatives and activities in accordance with the business requirements set forth by regional and global procurement. Responsible for both strategic and tactical aspects of cost improvement through a strong program management. Build up continuous improvement thru entire supply base to bring material productivity to the next level.

 

TE Connectivity's Procurement Teams are responsible for developing and implementing multi-year strategies for commodities, suppliers and services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They generate forecasts and perform analysis to identify trends, opportunities, threats and needed course correction in purchasing, strategic sourcing and other areas of business. They are also responsible for creating "what if" scenarios to guide future business planning decisions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lay out a full cost improvement process in terms of identifying opportunities, implementing and tracking progress, and reporting results.
  • Lay out the strategic plan to achieve 5 years cost improvement target to align with company 5 years business plan
  • Lead and work with CoE organization to drive continuous improvement and deploy TE best at vendors
  • Build should cost modeling: !) to define cost gap for existing business; 2) to ensure sourcing at cost for NPI 
  • Lead and work with Engineering function to initiate VAVE/OMP workshop to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Lead cross functional team to drive and implement resourcing, dual sourcing and VAVE programs
  • Coordinate with regional and global counterparty to execute common platform cost saving programs. Ensure best practice and lessons learn shared between regions.
  • Develop the regional CI team and talent

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree required. Advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years working experience and at least 5 years in the Automotive industry
  • Engineering background or experience such as Continuous Improvement or manufacturing process engineers, or SDE with years focus is the plus
  • Quality & program management as the plus
  • Good English communication, Multi-lingual preferred
  • Willingness to travel/relocate regionally or globally
  • Strong leadership skills required with a demonstrated ability to gain consensus in cross-functional team atmosphere
