Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Position Overview 


This position is responsible for effectively leading the collaboration with business units across TE to achieve productivity and gross margin improvement that are aligned with TE strategy. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and executing the AI strategy to integrate and optimize the inhouse and external resources by influences. The person in this position must charter a strong AI related talent network among business units and AMT on transforming innovation practices into robust application processes with scaling up implementations. This role will leverage the leader’s experience in AI, manufacturing, assembly, and general management to build a strong network and increase the competitiveness in AI related advanced assembly, automation, and manufacturing technologies for TE. 
This is an extremely hands-on role that provides the candidate with opportunity to join a high performing organization and highly visible development opportunities for future operation and manufacturing leadership within TE. The position will locate in TE Singapore AI Hub campus and will serve customers from multiple business units and manufacturing sites globally. 


Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Identify AI opportunities with multiple BU customers to facilitate their strategy of accelerating the short-term and long-term AI related roadmap on assembly and automation manufacturing.
  • Develop and innovate AI related strategies for the transformational collaboration with BU customer to drive TE operational excellence through end-to-end approach from effective innovation, application, and scaling up implementation. Align the strategy with BU customer’s current to 5-year strategic roadmaps and make recommendation on the AMT prioritizations. 
  • Develop a high-performance AI internal and external teams with productivity and quality mindset, optimize the inhouse and external/educational AI resources to engage with global customers with cross-functional programs and provide subject matter expertise and industry best practices related to manufacturing operation. 
  • Provide critical thinking and influence by contributing with AI related platforming and implementation of innovative solutions addressing the most challenge assembly and automation processes. 
  • Oversee and provide directions to AMT global AI projects with support to make sure they are meeting customer requirement on time, on performance, and on budget. 
  • Partner with the other AMT leaders to develop AI related strategic partnership with suppliers to meet global business needs, and to drive the supplier improvement plans with quality, delivery, and cost requirement. 
  • Partner with the AMT leaders, BU operation leaders and central operation functions to develop AI talents inside the organization, building AI automation and assembly talents competency for the company for sustainable growth. 
  • Drive continuous improvement culture change through collaboration and communication regarding AI related best practices knowledge sharing, internal and external benchmarking, talent development, and hands-on leadership. 
  • Promote a culture that reflects company’s values, encourages outstanding performance, and promotes positive work environment, encouraging inclusion and diversity to develop, coach, and mentor individuals in the team to fully unleash their potentials. 
  • Develop and maintain programs and policies to ensure a highly effective and motivated workforce; evaluate training needs and develop training and development plans to support high-performance teams. 

Key Requirements-

 

  • A Master degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline. A PhD engineering degree is strongly preferred. 10+ years operational and/or technical experiences in a technology environment/industry is also preferred. 
  • A strong leader with clearly demonstrated AI experience and a track record of AI innovating as well as AI deploying/scaling up new technologies via influence in matrix organizations. Understanding key SPAM process in TE is preferred. Experiences in chartering company-wide AI technology events with solid tangible results are strongly preferred. 
  • Capacity to make balanced decisions in best interest of the business and company with respect to people, investments, and total cost of ownership. 
  • Record of proven results in driving organization integration and innovating process for benchmarking and sharing best practices. 
  • Proven records of collaborating with multiple manufacturing/engineering teams and BU customers to develop strategy and execute AI and related projects with multi-years roadmap for productivity and growth margin improvement. 
  • Experienced in matrix management with a track record of being able to manage by influence and coordinate cross business unit activities. 
  • Ability to lead multi-cultural team members, helping them grow to be stronger and more effective. 
  • Demonstrated track record of taking initiatives, working in a fast-paced environment, and handling multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Passionate, resilient leader with experience leading change. 
  • Strong business acumen and customer orientation. 
  • Working knowledge of AI, P&L, cost saving strategies, and budget balances.

  • Strong global industrial experiences with time spent working and living abroad is desired.
