Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Category Manager to lead category sourcing strategies in Machining/Metals across our China operations. This role is responsible for driving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and supply continuity while supporting regional and global business objectives.

You will own end-to-end category management in China while working for the global leader of this category. 

Job Requirements

Category Strategy Development

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with global and regional business goals
• Analyze supply markets, cost structures, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization, and supply base optimization

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
• Manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, innovation)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in China and Asia

Cost Management & Optimization

• Drive annual cost reduction targets through:
• Negotiations
• Resourcing and dual sourcing
• Value engineering and design collaboration
• Develop should-cost models and benchmarking analysis

What your background should look like

Required

• College degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
• Strong experience managing suppliers within China/Asia markets
• Proven track record delivering cost savings and supplier improvements
• Fluent in Mandarin and English

Preferred

• Experience in electronics, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong negotiation and contract management experience
• Experience working in a global matrix organization
