Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Account Management Teams are responsible for selling TE's products, systems or services, providing detailed technical product information and maintaining relationships with customers in assigned geographic territory, industry or accounts.

 

 

The position will be based out of Shanghai, China. S/he will have responsibility for over $700M in sales revenue and will have approximately 10 direct reports. 

 

The successful candidate will provide regional strategic leadership, accelerate growth, and elevate the level of sales expertise through direct management of a solid team of professionals.  Additionally, this Sales executive will have direct responsibility for developing and maintaining senior level customer and channel partner relationships within the industry. Primarily, s/he will be a growth driver through both customer and channel-driven strategies.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The role's primary responsibilities are to:

 

  • Increase sales revenue and market share with current customers and expand into new markets and new categories
  • Map and execute strategies to engage and penetrate ‘B’ & ‘C’ local accounts
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor a highly accountable, productive sales team
  • Develop and lead all senior level customer relationships within the A/P region
  • Work closely with the in-house Product Management and Marketing teams to provide strategic guidance and direction that enhances overall organization effectiveness
  • Directly interface with key customers and team members on an ongoing basis in order to build and maintain long-term credibility 
  • Drive increased revenue from current product line to close anticipated revenue shortfalls prior to receiving revenue uplift from recent and significant technology platform wins
  • Incentivize the regional sales group through partnering with human resources and sales leadership to design and deliver competitive sales incentive plans

While the role has direct oversight of the Asia/Pacific sales region, a strong and cooperative working relationship must be developed and maintained between the functional heads of other important areas such as Marketing, Product Management, Research/Development, Operations/Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, etc.  Collaboration with other TE Connectivity organizations is also a necessary activity for this position. As a senior member of management, the role is involved with developing and recommending broad business building strategies, plans, and initiatives that maximize overall sales volume and profitability.

 

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced executive with 12+ years successfully selling in the communication, wireless or data center industries (or related, solutions-oriented industry).  Of critical importance will be experience building and invigorating leading brands and driving share growth.  It is likely that this person has an excellent education and an MBA from a leading business school.  Demonstrated competence in a focused set of professional and personal skills is critical:

  •  The proven ability to sell concepts to senior executives in a consultative way. This requires executive presence, outstanding communication and negotiation skills, strong relationship management capabilities, and the intellectual wherewithal to deal with clients at senior levels
  •  Significant exposure and senior level contacts in the communication, wireless or data center industries; relationships with current OEMs a requirement (Huawei, ZTE, Cisco, for example)
  •  Hands-on experience with utilization of tools that include business strategies, customer analysis, marketing segmentation research, and a variety of promotional programs
  •  Good exposure to measurement and tracking processes, as well as the utilization of financial models
  •  A team player with a self-starting, entrepreneurial drive for results and the ability to effectively manage an extended lead sales cycle.  Organizational skills, sociability, optimism, high energy, enthusiasm, and integrity are key characteristics for the successful incumbent.
