Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.

Position Overview:

The Asia Pacific (APAC) Sales and Business Development Sr. Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Asia Pacific ICT sensor sales and business development strategy to accelerate and grow a profitable ICT sensors business in the dominant countries of China, Japan and Korea. Further, the APAC manager will supervise the normal sales and business development activities for the established customer portfolio in the region, including having direct customer contact and perform sales monitoring, forecasting, AR supervision, and salesforce follow-up. The APAC Manager will manage regional Sales and Business Development Managers and their respective Field Application Engineers. The APAC manager reports directly to the ICT Sensors the leader for Global Sales and Business Development.

·         Develop and execute a 5 year APAC strategic plan to accelerate profitable growth for ICT Sensors

·         Clearly define regional mega-trends that lead to growth drivers for tactical and strategic sensor sales and product line development

·         Drive comprehensive communication and team alignment to enable the APAC ICT sensor strategic plan with support from customer care, quality, engineering, product management, operations and ICT sales

·         Drive talent enhancements and go to market strategy in support of the APAC strategy

·         Establish transparent lines of communication and enable APAC strategic growth within the overall Global ICT Sensor strategy

·         Lead and stand accountable for the regular sales operations in the region, including revenue monitoring, forecasting, AR management

·         Lead the APAC sales and business development team


Key Performance Indicators:

·         TERP pipeline development and conversion to design wins

·         YoY revenue growth

·         Revenue performance to fiscal budget and quarterly CMMT

·         5 year strategic growth targets

·         Operating income target

·         Forecast accuracy

·         AR performance – Overdue receivables



l  This role requires active engagement with customers that includes no less than effective negotiation skills, strategic product development agreement knowledge along with issue resolution.

l  Thorough knowledge of emissions regulations, OEM and market trends..

l  BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Sales & Marketing is preferred

l  Excellent relationship and communication skills with Chinese native language and fluency in English.  Japanese and Korean language skills are a bonus.

l  Working experience with auto and or ICT OEMs in China, Japan and Korea preferred.

l  Ability to identify and motivate talent with emphasis on the team

l  Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities

l  Travel flexibility up to 25%
