Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

•Focal point of all supply chain initiatives associated with NPI for assigned region or product lines.
•Develop supply chain strategy around ANC global footprint. Guide ANC production to regions of consumption while improving landed cost and simplifying global logistics.
•Support all quoting and sampling activities within NPI.
•Lead make vs buy decisions for NPI.
•Responsible for attaining annual business results (ex. cost savings, supplier performance and compliance) for NPI. Including developing and leading leverage price and terms negotiations with supply base.
•Lead supplier negotiations and selection as required in the Lean Product Deployment process.
•Ensure lowest upfront cost and high supplier service in supplier selection via analysis of supplier data, financial, capacity and capability.
•Work closely with other BU Commodity Managers in business unit or sub-vertical to ensure the sharing of best-practices, and enhance negotiation leverage.
•Provide strong support for all TE manufacturing plant(s) within region for NPI.
•Provide valid and accurate inputs and commodity forecasts to TE’s suppliers.
•Promotes and provides instruction to supply base on global processes, standard work, and TE Platforms such as the TE portal at NPI stage.
•Holds Voice of Customer Sessions with internal customers and utilizes feedback to improve team performance and supply base service.
•Hold periodic business reviews with key/strategic suppliers to ensure T/E metrics and directives are being achieved. Implement improvement plans and actions for poor performing suppliers.
•Act as point person for all tooling associated with NPI projects. RFQ, analyze and award tool business based on lead time, core competency, location and price.
•Manage PO flow for engineering samples and tooling as required
•Complete special projects as directed by regional or global management.


•4+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or in a Procurement leadership role.
•Proven Experience in New Product Introduction as a supply chain & sourcing analyst in a global company is preferred
•Demonstrated leadership of a commodity, project team or direct reports is preferred.
•Demonstrated experience handling transferring of production process.
•Education: Bachelor level degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sourcing/ Procurement, Finance or related field.  Advanced degree a plus.
•Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
•Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, able to work well with international teams and individuals, not afraid to push for change.
•Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze complex financial documentation and RFP submissions and make detailed reports and recommendations to management. 
•Demonstrated negotiation skills.
•Ability for periodic travel required.
•Proficient in MS office suite; advanced Excel, Power point.
•Lean PD experience is a plus.
•Previous SAP experience or training a plus.
