Job Overview
As a Senior R&D / Product Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in the development, qualification, and optimization of innovative medium- and high-voltage cable accessories. You will support products throughout the entire development lifecycle—from concept development and electrical design to type testing and successful release for series production. In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise in high-voltage engineering with project ownership and contribute to the advancement of future-oriented solutions for power transmission and distribution.
Job Requirements
- Develop and optimize medium- and high-voltage cable accessory solutions
- Perform electrical design, technical evaluations, and feasibility studies
- Plan, conduct, and analyze high-voltage and type tests
- Lead and coordinate development projects while ensuring targets for quality, cost, and timelines are met
- Create technical specifications, test plans, and development documentation
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement technical improvement measures
- Collaborate with international development teams, customers, and suppliers
- Provide technical support to Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
What your background should look like
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field
- Several years of experience in the development, qualification, or testing of electrical equipment
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage and power engineering, including relevant standards and regulations
- Experience with high-voltage testing, insulation systems, and electric field control
- Project management experience and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and proactive approach
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken; German is an advantage
- Experience with simulation and calculation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell, or similar) is a plus
