Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Advanced Sourcing leads the development and execution of global advanced sourcing strategies that enable new product introductions (NPI), technology roadmaps, supplier innovation, cost competitiveness, risk management, and sustainability objectives across TE Connectivity's Electronics & Cables portfolio.

 

This role serves as the critical link between Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Business Unit Procurement, and Global Strategic Sourcing to influence sourcing decisions early in the product development lifecycle. The position will lead supplier selection, technology scouting, cost analysis, risk mitigation, and supplier development activities to ensure TE maintains a strong market position in rapidly evolving electronics markets.

Job Requirements

Advanced Sourcing Strategy & NPI Leadership

  • Lead sourcing for global NPI programs across TE units.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on sourcing during design phases.
  • Guide supplier selection, multi-source strategies, and early engagement.
  • Establish strategies to strengthen market position, speed time-to-market, and ensure supply continuity.
  • Enable transformation initiatives that enhance product launch execution and speed

 

Electronics Commodity & Technology Leadership

  • Lead sourcing and market intelligence for electronics commodities and emerging tech.
  • Monitor technology trends, supplier capabilities, risks, and market changes.
  • Identify opportunities in alternate sources, tech advances, and value engineering.

 

Supplier Selection & Development

  • Lead supplier evaluation, qualification, onboarding, and capability building.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations supporting NPI and growth.
  • Maintain preferred supplier frameworks.
  • Collaborate to advance innovation, cost reduction, capacity, and sustainability.

 

Risk Management & Supply Chain Resilience

  • Identify technology, supply, geopolitical, and lifecycle risks.
  • Develop mitigation strategies: alternate sourcing, redesign, inventory planning.
  • Use market intelligence to spot risks and opportunities.
  • Advance continuity planning for electronics commodities.

 

Cost Competitiveness & Value Engineering

  • Drive productivity and cost reduction through early sourcing.
  • Develop cost models and benchmark pricing.
  • Collaborate on value analysis and engineering.
  • Implement alternate component qualification for cost and resilience.

 

Sustainability & Compliance

  • Lead supplier engagement on sustainability and Scope 3 reporting.
  • Work with ESG, Engineering, Procurement on compliance.
  • Facilitate supplier sustainability assessments and improvements.
  • Include sustainability in sourcing and selection.

 

Data, Analytics & Category Intelligence

  • Develop market intelligence and commodity taxonomies.
  • Enhance tech classifications and sourcing opportunities.
  • Use benchmarking, intelligence, and risk tools for decisions.
  • Lead initiatives to improve sourcing governance and data quality.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner and build strategic alliances with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Business Units
  • Build alignment and guide decisions globally.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on growth, innovation, resilience, and productivity.
  • Manage 2-3 sourcing analysts

What your background should look like

Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, engineering, operations, or supply chain.
  • 5 years of people management experience
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and technical sourcing programs.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.


Preferred

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, PCB/PCBA, connectors, cables, or related technologies.
  • Advanced understanding of electronics supply chains and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience with supplier risk management, market intelligence tools, cost modeling, and sustainability programs.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $151,300 – $189,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
