You'll work closely with customers to solve complex optical connectivity challenges while developing deep expertise in AI and hyperscale computing applications.

Job Requirements
Customer Technical Support & Application Engineering
- Direct Customer Engagement: Provide technical support and applications engineering for passive optical connectivity solutions including Silicon Photonics and PIC coupling applications
- Technical Problem Solving: Support customers with fiber optic connector selection, optical performance optimization, and system integration challenges
- Application Development: Work with customers to develop and validate optical connectivity solutions for single-fiber, multi-fiber (MT based), and expanded beam applications
- Customer Training: Conduct technical training sessions on fiber optic inspection, cleaning, testing methodologies, and best practices
Optical System Analysis & Design Support
- Performance Analysis: Support customers with optical channel loss budget calculations, insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) analysis
- Connector Performance Validation: Assist customers in validating optical fiber connector performance and system integration requirements
- Design Collaboration: Work with customers using 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks) to support mechanical integration and optical system design
- Testing Support: Provide hands-on support for fiber optic testing, inspection equipment usage, and performance validation
Technical Expertise Development & Application
- Silicon Photonics Applications: Develop expertise in PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuit) coupling structures and fiber attachment unit (FAU) solutions
- Polarization Management: Support customers with polarization maintaining fiber applications, fusion splicing, and fiber polarity management
- Polarity Management: Mastery of fiber polarity management methods and fiber optic shuffle techniques
- Optical Performance Optimization: Provide technical guidance on optical lens performance, pointing accuracy, and return loss characteristics
- Laser System Integration: Support customers with laser power considerations, performance requirements, and system stability optimization
Customer Requirements & Communication
- Requirements Capture: Document customer technical requirements and application challenges for communication to internal teams
- Technical Documentation: Create application notes, technical guides, and customer-specific documentation
- Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and System Architecture teams to address customer needs
- Market Intelligence: Gather and communicate customer feedback on product performance and market requirements
What your background should look like
- Education: BS in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
- Experience: 5-7 years in optical systems, fiber optics, or photonics with customer-facing technical experience preferred
- Technical Foundation: Strong understanding of optical principles, fiber optics, and connector technologies
- Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers in technical problem-solving environments
Core Technical Competencies
- Optical Systems: Understanding of optical channel loss budgets, fiber performance characteristics, and basic connector performance parameters
- Fiber Optic Technology: Knowledge of passive fiber connector features including single-fiber, multi-fiber, and expanded beam concepts

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $135,800 –$203,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
