Job Overview

Assists more senior engineers in implementing manufacturing techniques, processes, tools and machinery in order to optimize quality and output levels.

Job Requirements

Experience and education  

  • Knowledge of medical devices or similar quality and manufacturing systems (Desirable) 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or equivalent, with 0-1 years of experience in a demanding high-volume production environment, or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing.
  • Statistical knowledge, including data analysis and the use of statistical software (JMP, Minitab, etc.)
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient user of CAD tools; SolidWorks experience preferred. Familiarity with Minitab, MS Project, and advanced Excel.  
  • Understanding of engineering principles related to Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing. Professional Training & Certifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (Yellow/ Green Belt)
  • CAD Proficiency – Solidworks and Mastercam

Responsibility Includes the following Task  

  • Participate as a team member in projects and production support or improvement activities.
  • Plan training and development objectives in coordination with the supervisor.
  • Complete process design and development projects by training and guiding interns/technicians.
  • Identify and implement effective, permanent technical/system solutions to problems.
  • Consistently meet customer requirements and demonstrate a commitment to performance excellence and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with TE Connectivity systems and processes.
  • Identify and develop improvements to enhance key process metrics related to Service, Delivery, Quality, and Cost using Lean/6 Sigma methodologies.
  • Research cutting-edge process technologies and evaluate their potential competitive advantage and cost benefits.
  • Execute projects in coordination with other resources management functions (e.g.,NPI,
  • Quality Engineering, Design Assurance, R&D, and other cross-functional departments) related to engineering. Work with the team to plan, coordinate, and implement activities that support the successful launch of new products, including make vs. Buy analysis, new process introduction, and more. Develop/modify manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks.
  •  Manage external relationships with key technology vendors.
  • Handle a variable workload to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate and execute validation activities, including equipment IQ/OQ, process OQ/PQ, process characterization, attribute/variable test method validation, and associated 
    documentation.
  • Possess knowledge of how the Validation Master Plan connects to pFMEA, dFMEA, CAPA, NCE, Problem Solving, DMAIC, and risk management.
  • Define, establish, and lead all required documentation to manage manufacturing processes, including analytical models, procedures, work instructions, employee training tools,process FMEAs, and more.  
  • Knowledgeable in designing fixtures and tools for production.
  • Execute TEBIT initiatives to generate cost-saving and continuous improvement projects.
