Job Overview

The Data and Devices Business Unit at TE Connectivity is seeking a Product Manager to join the Sockets Product Team. This position will be based in the United States.

 

The Product Manager will be responsible for the socket product portfolio and will operate as a "mini General Manager," developing and executing strategies that drive long-term competitiveness, profitable growth, and market share gains. The successful candidate will be accountable for defining and implementing product strategies that outperform the market and support the overall business objectives.

 

This role requires strong strategic thinking, robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and a strong technical aptitude. The Product Manager will work closely with Sales, FAE, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing teams across multiple regions to align on strategy, drive execution, and accelerate business growth.

 

The role also requires close engagement with customers to capture Voice of Customer (VOC), understand technology roadmaps and product requirements, and identify gaps in TE's current product offerings.

What You Will Be Doing

Market Intelligence and Strategy Development

  • Analyze and articulate market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and industry developments.
  • Develop product roadmaps that align with business strategy and evolving market requirements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking, leveraging market insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies, including direct customer engagement, channel strategies, and partnership initiatives as applicable.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to develop and optimize product footprint strategies.

Business Planning and Execution

  • Define the resources required to execute the product roadmap and business strategy.
  • Establish and execute target cost and pricing strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with and enable the Sales organization to maximize market share and customer engagement through effective go-to-market execution.
  • Develop annual operating plans, including revenue, gross margin, standard margin, and operating margin targets.
  • Drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives and monitor progress against established goals.
  • Identify business performance gaps and lead cross-functional efforts to implement corrective actions.

New Product Development and Launch Execution

  • Act as the business champion for new product opportunities and development programs.
  • Negotiate and manage key commercial terms, including NRE agreements and product pricing, in a timely manner.
  • Partner closely with customers, account teams, and engineering teams to develop compelling product solutions that meet customer requirements and secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and justify business cases and obtain necessary capital expenditure (CER) approvals.
  • Work closely with Project Management and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, escalate risks when necessary, and ensure successful on-time product launches.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including marketing activities, sales enablement, and capacity ramp-up plans.

What your background should look like:

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in Product Management, Business Development, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry experience in data centers, servers, switches, high-speed interconnects, connectors, or semiconductor-related markets preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another technical discipline with 12 years of related experience
  • MBA degree preferred with 8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work effectively across global time zones, including participation in early morning and late evening meetings and customer calls

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering business results.
  • Travel requirement: 25-30%.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $153,200 - $229,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
