Product Test Technician

Job Title: Technician, Swindon - UK 

 


Job Overview
This role will provide laboratory & compliance support to the Analytical team within the Aerospace, Defence and Marine business unit. The compliance activities will cover all Engineered Polymer Solutions and Wire and Cable products; compiling information to create Safety Data Sheets, coding of parts and indexing of chemicals. The analytical activities will cover supporting the analytical team with routine testing, sample preparation and housekeeping. 

 


Job Responsibilities
•    Support compliance engineer with maintenance of raw materials, compound and product SDS, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations in multiple countries
•    Assist in chemical inventory management including indexing of SDS on MSDSOnline
•    Supporting engineer with the review of incoming raw material requests for Swindon site
•    Support engineer with Product Compliance Tracking actions
•    Support engineer with testing & labelling requirements
•    Perform routine analytical tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to complete analyses
•    Sample preparation – potting, cutting & grinding
•    Routine QC FTIR testing.
•    Support printing and cleaning 3D printed parts
•    Wet and dry analytical techniques
•    General laboratory house keeping
•    Participation in training courses.

 


Qualifications 
•    A Level Maths and English, or Apprenticeship training in engineering or employer equivalent.
•    Practical lab experience preferred.

 


Key Requirements
•    Ideally hold knowledge of TE Connectivity’s products 
•    Strong communication skills written and verbal
•    Pay attention to detail and accurately record information
•    Use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
•    Good record keeping
•    Be open and approachable.

•    Technical by nature and with a practical hands-on approach.
