Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

 

This support role is a key part of the Supply Chain Procurement function. Responsible for development and ownership of Raw Materials strategy and management of supplier base. This role is responsible for liaising with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Finance, Quality and Operations to ensure implementation of strategic actions in securing supply. Focuses in improving Raw Materials availability to Compounding and Wire & Cable Divisions in line with Demand.

 

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Supply chain team and consistently achieve challenging KPI targets across the department. They will be required to possess excellent people skills and be flexible and resilient in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities of the role:

 

  • Accountable to achieve objectives/targets regarding Supplier Quality, Delivery and Material Productivity.
  • Builds strong relationships with strategic suppliers to optimize performance.
  • Develops, executes, commodity strategies ensuring alignment with plant and BU objectives.
  • Leads and executes the Procurement Steps.
  • Work to mitigate supplier risk by establishing strategies for risk evaluation.
  • Support critical or systemic supplier performance recovery.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to deliver long term agreements.
  • Determine and implement requirements for dual sourcing.
  • Manage data integrity in SAP and IBM.
  • Ensures and promotes adherence to global processes, policies, procedures, best practices within TE and extensive to supply base.

Requirements for the role:

 

  • 5 Years minimum experience in Procurement.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems applicable to Planning and Procurement.
  • Project management tools to document, drive and communicate key activities.
  • Negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to present complex data in a simple and clear format.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
