Job Overview

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Wire and Cable Division
Location: Swindon

 

Responsibilities:
 
-    Provide hands on day to day manufacturing support.
-    Deliver ongoing improvements to processes, procedures and products, with a view to improving overall site productivity. 
-    Collate and analyse data to provide solutions to Production and Technical problems. 
-    Ensure product costings, standards and documentation is accurate.
-    Ensure all process changes are controlled and appropriately documented according to business procedures. 
-    Ensure customer complaints are answered and resolved with robust solutions within business time frames.
-    Ensure all activities are carried out safely and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
-    Support the Technical, Planning and Production managers through regular communication of project plans, ideas and delivery.
-    Lead and facilitate an improvement culture to achieve continuous improvement programmes
-    Address in process quality issues and non-conformances in production
-    Respond to requests from the Global sales team on non-standard product requests
-    Attend daily Operations meetings and assist in the resolution of day to day business issues. 
-    Maintenance of PFMEAs and Control Plans
 

What your background should look like:

-    HNC or Degree Qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing Electrical Engineering 
-    Demonstrated understanding of Process/Manufacturing IT systems.
-    Six Sigma qualified; Green belt level or above desirable but not essential.
-    8D Problem Solving is desirable.
-    IOSHH qualification is desirable.
-    Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
-    A hands-on practical approach
-    Flexibility to work on a number or projects and ability to prioritise
-    Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude towards driving change
