An exciting opportunity to join our Engineering Project Management Team based in Swindon. The team manage cross functional engineering projects working with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. You will be responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

 

 

About the Role

 

As a Senior Project Manager Engineer you will manage all product development projects and act as the “GM” for the project to ensure that the project meets the design requirements and contractual obligations for TE. Ensuring all Project’s follow governance in accordance to TE Process (LEANPD V2) and are presented to Project Approval Committee (PAC).

 

You will actively identify and manage project risks to ensure they are either prevented or mitigated. Identifying and managing stakeholders (Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Senior Management, TE Customers and Suppliers etc). Identify and organize resources and project team to deliver project as efficiently as possible.

 

Drive and lead project team (non-direct reports) by holding members accountable for deliverables and escalate issues as needed. Continuously identify and proactively overcome barriers and roadblocks during the project.

 

Communicate frequently, clearly, concisely with the project team and all stakeholders including senior management. Ensure that the project is aligned with the business unit’s growth strategy and help stakeholders to understand how the project is aligned to the strategy. You will also drive use of agile practices and techniques to accelerate delivery.

 

 

About You

 

  • The ideal candidate will hold proven experience within a similar Project Management position.
  • Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering or a related subject.
  • Hold experience within a global organization. Ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leading product development activities.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project management with New product development projects.
  • Be willing to travel internationally when required. (around 10% of travel)
  • Project Management Institute certification, PMP (preferred) or Prince2 certification.
  • Six Sigma certification (preferable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Culturally sensitive.
  • Experience running global projects with virtual teams.
  • Ability to work within a cross functional team to maintain schedule and financial goals throughout a project.
  • Ability to run multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proactive, Resilient and Self-confident.
