Job Overview

Engineering Technician support within product engineering.  This would cover AD&M products (e.g. wire & cable, braiding, tubing,) from laboratory testing and qualification testing, ensuring products comply with the company and industry standards, codes and specifications, to analyzing data, report writing and maintaining the calibration of the equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Visual, mechanical and electrical inspection and testing of products at all stages of manufacture to support existing business for quality, cost reduction or obsolescence reasons.
  • Technical support for customers and business both in-house and off-site.
  • Participation in training courses.
  • Technical support for the development of new products, techniques or practices.
  • Ability to understand design elements of TE Connectivity’s products.
  • Use technical schematics, engineering drawings and testing tools to ensure product quality
  • Developing of new testing methods as the technology evolve.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project files, creation of process control documents, preparation and maintenance of Codes of Practice.
  • Interpretation of specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting, calibrating and writing reports
  • Contribute to the innovation within Product Engineering and the business.
  • Lab management – as applicable.

What your background should look like

  • ONC, or Apprenticeship training in engineering or employer equivalent.
  • 2 years minimum of experience with laboratory testing and qualification testing.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Technical by nature and with a practical hands-on approach.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures, techniques and test methods.
  • Know how to adjust/use test equipment (i.e., Tensometer, ovens, freezers, HV cage)
  • Use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to read all types of drawings.
  • Good record keeping
