Job Overview

We are seeking an engaged and driven Quality and Reliability Technician to join our Quality Control team, supporting W&C operations. The person will be able to work as both part of a Team and independently to complete Quality inspection of products and control their customer release. 

This is a swing shift role. 

Job Requirements

  • •    Carry out a wide variety of Mechanical, Electrical and Fibre Optic Testing on Wire and Cable products, with the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
    •    Complete Routine, PQ and other QC related testing
    •    Raise Non-conformances as and when necessary, able to understand when and how to highlight defects. Able to resolve minor quality issues.
    •    Able to calibrate designated QC equipment before use without supervision
    •    Be able to manage own workload and prioritise based on Production requirements
    •    Provide short term Quality Team cover during planned and unplanned absence for key activities.
    •    Be able to interpret and work to technical documents including Manufacturing Specifications, Product Drawings and Test Reports 
    •    Pay attention to detail and accurately record results.
    •    Support with deviations, concessions and Problem Solving 8D activities such that Quality Engineer can engage with timely and detailed communication to internal and external customers.
    •    Conduct applicable on-site Quality training. Mandatory and developed where required.
    •    Actively participate in handover and weekly meetings.
    •    Support Operational Tier meetings if required. Ensuring applicable data is prepared when requested and shared with operations. Provide timely feedback on activities / requirements to Quality team.
    •    Provide support on scrap reduction initiatives when requested.
    •    Be an active participant and advocate of TE Operating Advantage (TEOA), interact with cross-functional team members to identify gaps and opportunities and drive continuous improvement, including Lean/TEOA Activities when required (e.g. Kaizen).
    •    Support internal and external audits.
    •    Carry out any other reasonable request by a member of the management team.
    •    Understand the site EH&S Policies and Procedures, work in a safe manner and follow health and safety guidelines.

What your background should look like

•    Candidates must possess at least two years of experience within a manufacturing and/or Quality Control setting, ideally in a laboratory environment
•    High attention to detail with excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong PC skills with aptitude to learn new systems and Laboratory equipment
•    Organised with high degree of motivation and self-initiative, managing multiple tasks, and can adapt to changing priorities, accomplishing them in a timely manner
•    Strong team spirit, with ability to work well with internal and external customers, and with other cultures
•    Be able to demonstrate behaviours in line with TE Values and Ethical Conduct
