This role is situated within our Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit and is part of the Industrial Solutions segment (Industrial Solutions) which is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and rigorous environments.


Job Title: Plant Quality Manager


Job Overview
We are seeking an engaging and driven Quality Manager to form an integral member of the Swindon Management Team. The successful candidate shall be responsible for the sites Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. As part of this working on systemic evaluation of product, services, facilities, manufacturing, or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met, along with the development of quality plans and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts and six sigma tools and analysis to drive business excellence and a zero-defect culture.


This person will report to the Swindon Operations Plant manager and will have matrix reporting to the Global Quality Leader for Wire and Cable.

    
Job Responsibilities
•    Lead, train, and coach local employees to ensure quality procedures and plans are communicated regularly and effectively
•    Demonstrable significant achievements in terms of quality improvement via reduced customer complaints, improved customer experience and reduced COPQ 
•    Be a key member of the Swindon plant management team and introduce plant quality strategy.
•    Lead and oversee the deployment and execution of quality policies, objectives, targets, goals and quality initiatives.
•    Review local quality policies and align with corporate policies
•    Lead and maintain the Quality Management System across the site covering ISO9001 and AS9100 that meets all customer, statutory and regulatory requirements, 
•    Maintain a strong internal and external audit schedule program, and closeout on corrective actions driven from the program.
•    Lead and take ownership of the Compliance validation audit program.

What your background should look like:

 
•    Qualified by Experience or holds a Degree in engineering, manufacture, supply chain or business
•    Significant experience in a Quality Management Role
•    Exposure to working in a manufacturing environment
•    Experience working and developing strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers. 
•    Proven six sigma and lean experience 
•    Strong knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9100 
•    Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including but not limited to 8D, FMEA, 5Y, FAI’s, PPAP & APQP
