Job Overview

This position works in the Performance Materials Application and Material Development laboratories, as a key member working closely with Sustaining Product Engineering teams, NPI/Innovation, and Product management teams. This role will cover the application specification and testing per internal specification and different automotive specification as for Volvo, Mercedes Benz, VW, Ford, Stellantis, GM. Test technician will play a crucial role in application testing; prepare performance data and reports; support the team to solve problems with current HST products and support building knowledge of costumer about applications HST.

Further Responsibilities

  • Prepare relevant test reports.
  • Edit and write work instruction, editing safety documents.
  • Maintain equipment calibration list and perform regular outsourcing calibration before expiration.
  • Be responsible for maintenance of test equipment and instruments, spot check equipment carefully.
  • Implement 5S and personal protection per Company´s Policy, ensure tidy environment and safety in lab.
  • Train and qualify new technicians.
  • Continuous improvement. Look for and suggest efficiency improvements within qualification laboratory.
  • Analyse test results and present problem resolution ideas.
  • Maintain EH&S local procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure all raw materials are available to support continuation of tests.
  • Order equipment and materials as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out tests according to specifications/SOP, ensure test tasks can be finished within schedule.
  • Be familiar with ASTM/ISO test standards, internal specification and OEM standards as VW, Volvo, Ford, Mercedes Benz, etc, develop corresponding operation procedures.
  • Perform application testing and test competitor products for supporting PM.
  • Carry out testing in support of existing product ranges, including routine qualification testing.
  • Support PM to test competitor products and customer´s application test.
  • Support in verification tests for NPD projects.
  • Improve existing test capability based on product test requirement.
  • Learn to operate flame test chamber for horizontal flame test method.
  • Support in verification/qualification tests for sustaining projects.
  • Analyse root cause of test failure and propose corrective action.
  • Carefully record test data and results, check and review test data to meet specification requirements.

What your background should look like:

  • High school diploma in technical fields or 3 years’ experience.
  • Familiar with PC and office software.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, physical, and chemical testing (Not essential but advantageous)
