Job Title: Product Manager, Swindon – UK  


Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets. The Aerospace, Defence and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment and is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and rigorous environments. These interconnection solutions make possible applications in avionics, jet and propulsion engine management, flight controls, grounding systems and on-board entertainment for today's "connected aircraft". This capability is extended to Defence applications including air, space, land and marine platforms.  The Product Manager serves as the primary liaison between the customer and sales team and operations and engineering personnel.  


This individual will be the primary contact for customer sample requests, product promotion updates, and must possess the skills required to read and understand customer specifications to determine product recommendations.  This role also assists other members of the Product Management organization to identify quality improvements and revenue and margin optimization opportunities. Duties also include new product proposal quote activities, including presenting the business case to upper management.


Job Responsibilities
•    Research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape 
•    Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking 
•    Provide materials to support the go to market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships 
•    Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet customer needs 
•    Manage the product lifecycle by providing product trend analysis to the lead PM(s)
•    Work cross functionally to achieve sales, technology and operations strategies and goals, in line with financial goals
•    Implement pricing policy as defined by lead PM(s) 
•    Assist in the development of the annual operating plan (Sales and gross or standard margin)
•    Prepare financial analysis in support of new product launch 
•    Create and manage new product development projects 
•    Gather product specification and product attribute information for the development of marketing collateral, including e-catalogue 
•    Provide product demand forecast inputs to the S&OP process
•    Perform pricing analysis in preparation of catalogue price changes or in response to special pricing requests 
•    Provide product information to customers, the sales team, customer service, field application engineering, etc. 
•    Perform product cost and gross margin analysis 
•    Respond to requests for proposals 
•    Assist in championing the resolution of product issues, e.g. delivery, quality, inventory 
•    Respond to requests for samples 
•    Issue product change notices and material change orders 
•    Coordinate and implement product and applications training
•    Build a robust pipeline of M&A targets in alignment with the portfolio strategy 


Key Requirements
•    The ideal candidate will hold 2+ years of experience in sales, finance, engineering, or applications engineering 
•    Relevant product or industry experience desired
•    4-year technical or business degree required
•    Preferably degree qualified – Engineering discipline
•    Experience in complex, matrix organizations; knows how to get things done with influence where required
•    Ability to problem solve in fast paced environment
•    Experience in a B2B environment
•    Travel: 25% to 50%
