Job Overview

The Operations Talent Training Leader serves as the key business partner and trusted advisor for our Plant Manager in Swindon, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and retaining talent within our operations department. You will work closely with department managers to assess training needs, design, and deliver training programs, and implement talent management strategies to support organizational goals.

Main Responsibilities

  • In partnership with country HR, understand business cycles and talent needs of the organization to develop ‘people’ strategies to build the capability and flexibility of the workforce to meet business goals. 
  • Drive, in partnership with country HR, the employee engagement and culture of AD&M BU and TE. 
  • Apply the six sigma (TEOA) principles and tools to continuously improve training processes and services. 
  • In partnership with country HR, identify training needs aligned to the strategic workforce plan of the site and align to the onboarding process. 
  • Develop in partnership with country HR leadership training to grow skillsets from the shopfloor through to management. 
  • Working in partnership with the plant requirements, EH&S regulatory requirements, Engineering & HR to ensure that all training is in place as needed. 
  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of various roles within the operations department. 
  • Manage the documentation for training to ensure it is accurate, in date and refreshed as required. 
  • Drive the safety culture through safety training throughout the plant. 
  • Review & follow-up on coordination of training plans and program requirements.  
  • Training records creation and follow up, documentation storage and audit trails in sole source solutions. 
  • Coordinate local and external training. 
  • Manage local labor reports, corporate & annual audits for external regulators.  
  • Track and analyze training metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in talent management, training, or organizational development, in an operations or manufacturing environment 
  • Strong understanding of talent assessment methodologies, performance management, and employee development practices 
  • Familiarity of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards 
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in a manufacturing setting 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems.
