Role: Import / Export Analyst - Classification & Licence Specialist
Reporting to: Trade Compliance Manager
Location: Swindon UK
Position Summary:
Reporting to the ADM UK Trade Compliance Manager, supporting the ADM export licensing and trade compliance program. Responsibilities include export control classification, license determination, license applications, communication of license requirements and provisos to the business. Ensuring compliance with UK and US export control regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations. May include drafting of product rating requests. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of application templates and processes. Provide metrics regarding licensing. Areas of knowledge include but are not limited to product/technology/software classification, export licensing, export screening of prohibited parties, export documentation, contracts, terms and conditions, origin/valuation, and customs regulations. Works directly with various functional groups to assist with resolution of compliance matters.
Major Job Functions.
Licensing Requirements
• Review and approve requests for the export of controlled goods, technology or software.
• Work with the business to make the most appropriate licences decisions to support project requirements.
• Progress requests for information and undertakings EUCs with the internal customer service teams.
• Release deliveries for shipment under export license and co-ordinate shipping and customs requirements with TE warehouse and shipping office and TE customs broker.
Monitoring, Recordkeeping, and Metrics
• Maintain export control registers in-line with ADM Trade Compliance procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Progress requests for information and undertakings EUCs with the internal customer service teams Progress original supporting documentation and ensure that these are available for internal and external audit. Obtain appropriate proof of export for controlled shipments.
• Assists in coordination and implementation of periodic audits of company records for compliance with application regulations, as required.
• Attends and represents the business at government audits.
Additional activities.
• Participates in business and corporate projects as required.
• Provision of export control and classification requests to customer.
• Administration of requirements of free-trade Agreements.
• Providing export control and customs activity support to UK trade compliance team as required.
What your background should look like:
Proven experience working with import/export customs or export control area. Knowledge of UK Import/export regulations essential, experience with US regulations ITAR and EAR would be an advantage. Prior experience in licensing in a high-volume environment preferred. Position requires strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
