The TE Connectivity – Industrial BCS (Board Connectivity and Sub-Systems) Business Unit has an opportunity available for a Staff Project Manager in our Suzhou, China Facility. The Industrial Business Unit provides connectivity and integrated systems solutions to customers in the Industrial, Automation, Electrification & Energy Storage markets.
TE Connectivity’s Project Manager is responsible for the management of cross functional teams supporting new product development projects. The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. The Project Manager is responsible for defining and creating project schedules and ensuring project tasks are executed per that schedule. The Project Manager is also responsible for identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution of those constraints. The Project Manager is expected to adhere to the LEANPD process – a well-defined stage gate process that governs execution of new product development projects within TE. This includes regular presentations to the Sub Vertical Business unit’s Project Approval Committee (PAC) consisting of members of the Board Connectivity & Sub-Systems senior leadership team.
This role will report to the Manager Project Management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage NPD & Sustaining Engineering projects following the LEANPD and Sustaining Engineering processes, with a focus on launching new products on time, as well as managing Value Engineering, Transfer & Change projects in Serial Life (post Start of Production)
• Maintain project data in TE Project to achieve Industrial Business Unit data integrity goals
• Ensure project progress and deliverables are achieved across all business functions to ensure compliance with Stage Gate process
• Work with global project core teams to develop a project schedule and drive the project to meet that schedule
• Work with the global project core teams to develop a project budget and drive the project to meet that budget
• Work with Industrial Engineering to develop project P&Ls (Profit and Loss Calculations) and Budgetary Appropriation Requests to support capital expenditures
• Update/communicate status of projects to Project Approval Committee (PAC)
• Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations to make sure committed New Product Sales (NPS) are achieved, committed cost savings are recorded and delivered upon
• Contribute to or lead overall continuous improvement initiatives to address systemic issues in the new product development process
