SR PRINCIPAL PROJECT MANAGER ENGINEER

Job Overview

Responsible for the sound creation of the IND footprint strategic roadmap in APAC – under strong and close alignment with the Director Transformation & Footprint TE INDUSTRIAL and the overall IND Business and Operations Strategy

Oversees the execution of the IND footprint strategy in APAC including migrations, integrations of acquired companies and plant shut downs by guiding a functional team of Transfer Project Managers

Work on global, larger scale projects in the area of Supply chain in order to improve STR Improve for A-Accounts and Supplier Delivery Performance

Take the lead to complete Supply Chain Integration of acquired companies and drive SC Integration for future M&A

Drive global, larger scale projects in the area of Warehouse & Logistics in APAC region

Actively contribute to Freight costs optimization projects and drive Air to Ocean and air to rail solutions

Improve Freight Cost Data Transparency to be able to charge Freight costs to the right subunits (Subverticals)

Improve Warehouse and Distribution-Center Cost Data Transparency to be able to charge Warehouse and Distribution-Center costs to the right subunits (Subverticals)

Leading the major transfer projects in APAC by supporting the sites involved and the key stakeholders to deliver transfers on time, at the cost expected with improved service levels. Especially, prepare the receiving site to be able for seamless transfers and production continuity

Develop operational plans to continuing maximizing the cost structure of our products while improving services (including collaborative robots, etc.)

Provide coaching and guidance to Functional Leaders and Plant Managers in order to ensure their proper performance of duties and achievement of assigned objectives and actively remove major road blocks to help in achieving their targets and goals

What your background should look like:

10+ years of management experience – Manufacturing industry preferred 

Has worked in an international matrix organization with global footprint

Ideally multi-site experienced

5+ years’ experience in demonstrated process improvement success

5+ years experience in utilizing OpEx, SixSigma and Lean tools/methodologies

Proven experience in low volume high mix production is a MUST

Proven experience in footprint projects (migration/Greenfields/brownfields) is a MUST

Strong analytical, strategic and tactical skills

Problem solving attitude. Exceptional skill at organizing and prioritizing tasks

Business Acumen – able to connect business needs and operational transformation

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proven experience in leading by influence

Strong team formation and leadership skills

Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels

Demonstrated ability to motivate all levels of the organization

Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organisation

Fast learner, able to quickly familiarize her/himself with existing methods and practices and new concepts/ideas

Fluent in English and local language both written and spoken

Excellent skills, ability to interact with suppliers and customers

Ability to travel up to 30% of time mainly within APAC region

Footprint
