Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Job Requirements / Description:

  • Five or more years’ experience in electro-mechanical design and/or manufacturing / product engineering related positions.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge of Product Engineering principles, practices and procedures, including a solid understanding of manufacturing technologies such as stamping, plating, molding, assembly and machine application. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once, develop project plans, and drive engineering, product re-location, and cost reduction projects across multiple disciplines to improve business performance.
  • Very good written/verbal English communication skills; ability to participate in and occasionally lead productive, multi-functional meetings in English.  Will be communicating with team members in the US and Mexico on a daily basis, both via email and Teams calls.  Reporting manager is located in the US. 
  • Working knowledge of various metal and plastic materials, manufacturing processes and electro-mechanical product design principles.  Preferred candidates will be familiar with AC power fundamentals and electrical and magnetic circuits.
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines to solve manufacturing, quality, and performance issues of electromechanical products such as relays, and circuit breakers.
  • Familiar with various Engineering and Project Management tools such as LEAN / 6-sigma, DoE, FEMA, Value Stream mapping, Microsoft Project, etc. 
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Creo or other 3D software and ability to design and modify molded and stamped components, assemblies, and drawings.  Ability to process Engineering Changes to specifications, documents, and BOM’s. 
  • Ability to work independently of others as well as in a team setting; driven to meet and exceed assigned work and be held accountable for results.
