Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications: 

People Management & Development ( 10% )
(i)            Recruit right level of team members including Engineers and Technicians.
(ii)           Provide technical and relevant management training to Engineers and Technicians.
(iii)          Allocate work and project targets to Engineers and technicians.
(iv)          Review and provide performance feedback to technicians and Engineers.
(v)           Set up development tasks to team members to retain good talents.

Project Management ( 15% )
(i)            Lead every year’s working plan on improvement of yield, cost saving targets ( for his or her own process ) for manager’s approval.
(ii)           Lead larger, key cost saving or process improvement projects.
(iii)          Coordinate with other departments to identify resources for supporting projects.
(iv)          Prepare schedule and review project completion status and project progress on weekly basis
(v)           Resolve project issues.
(vi)          Periodically provide progress report to manager
Supplier Process Management ( 15% )
(i)            Assign necessary resource to test, examine and analysis the component parts and their functions and provide analysis reports to purchasing development in order to help them providing short list of targeted suppliers. 

Process Improvement ( 30% )
(i)            Understand operation process.
(ii)           Identify and analyze potential problem areas and improvement opportunities.
(iii)          Determine and implement corrective actions.
(iv)          Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
(v)           Incorporate the corrective measures into standard operation procedures ( SOP )

Technical Training ( 5% )
(i)            Prepare training materials and conduct technical training on new processes or new products ( including safety measures ) to Quality, Purchasing, Planning and Production Departments in order to introduce new processes and products to them.

Process Document Management ( 10% )
(i)            Monitor SOP update with new processes and corrective measures by Technicians, Engineers, in order to provide working instructions to operators.
(ii)           Chair a meeting with colleagues from other departments to review process documentation in order to meet Quality Assurance Procedure requirements

Quality Issue Resolution ( 5% )
(i)            Analyze customer complains to identify source of quality issues.
(ii)           Determine and implement corrective actions.
(iii)          Provide data and evidence to facilities report preparation by Quality Department.

Support New Projects ( 10% )
(i)            Support all MFG process related New Projects to make sure Mass Production start on time.
