Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

Key Responsibilities
1.    Optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operations, development engineers or other personnel.

2.    Maintains existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications consisting of manufacturing techniques and economies.

3.    Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.

4.    May support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. 
根据客户的定制化需求,基于现有的产品家族基础来完成产品扩展的工作。
5.    Team management and cross functional communication.

6.    Department budget management.

7.    Measure, analysis and report about the department performance.

8.    Allocate and balance work across direct reports, periodical review team target and subordinate performance to judge the target reallocation and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports.

9.    Mentor, develop, motivate direct reports.

Key Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

1.    Must have a minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering in minimum one of the academic disciplines mechanics, electrics or electronics.

2.    Minimum 5 years professional level engineering management experience.

3.    Needs a good commercial understanding.

4.    Strong understanding of products, technical processes, operations and logistics.
