Job Overview

To ensure the timely and cost-effective availability of products by managing procurement activities that meet customer demand. This role focuses on sourcing, purchasing, and delivering materials and products in the right quantity, quality, and location, while optimizing supply chain efficiency and minimizing costs. NPI Procurement deals with New Projects inquiries from pre-RFQ stage to Business award and execution until start of serial production.

Job Requirements

· Deliver operational market intelligence, spend analytics, and benchmarking insights to support strategic sourcing and procurement decisions.

· Lead procurement and supplier allocation activities across Local, Asia Pacific, and EMEA regions, ensuring continuity of supply, competitive pricing, and risk mitigation.

· Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard suppliers for new product components and materials; manage the complete RFQ process, including components and commercial tooling (Build/Run and Build/Transfer models).

· Negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, pricing, payment terms, and supplier commitments to achieve optimal value, quality, and delivery performance.

· Conduct detailed cost analysis, should-cost modeling, and market benchmarking to support sourcing strategies and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

· Drive cost-saving initiatives and value engineering programs to achieve product cost targets while maintaining quality and performance requirements.

· Manage procurement workstreams for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring supplier readiness, milestone tracking, proactive risk management, and on-time project execution.

· Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to develop cost models, identify key cost drivers, and recommend cost optimization opportunities.

· Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to implement Design-to-Cost (DTC) and Design-for-Cost (DFC) initiatives through alternative materials, manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, and design modifications.

· Develop and execute make-versus-buy strategies by evaluating technical feasibility, capacity, cost, quality, and long-term business objectives.

· Define sourcing strategies for new product requirements by aligning technical specifications, commercial targets, manufacturing technologies, supplier capabilities, and long-term commodity plans.

· Support supplier development, performance management, and strategic sourcing initiatives to strengthen supplier partnerships and improve overall supply chain competitiveness.

. Develop and maintain internal Should-Cost Models for new components, assemblies, and tooling to support sourcing decisions, negotiations, and cost transparency.

· Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing strategy alignment, supplier market assessment, bidder list finalization, and RFQ package development with complete technical and commercial requirements.

· Conduct supplier technical reviews, manufacturing process assessments, and capability evaluations to validate production readiness, capacity, quality systems, and technical feasibility.

· Collaborate with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to resolve technical deviations, evaluate alternative solutions, and achieve alignment on product and manufacturing requirements.

· Evaluate techno-commercial proposals against internal should-cost models, market benchmarks, and business objectives to establish negotiation strategies and target costs.

· Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, tooling investments, payment terms, logistics, warranty provisions, and contractual obligations to achieve optimal business outcomes.

· Draft, review, and finalize supplier agreements and contracts in collaboration with legal, finance, and stakeholder teams, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and risk management requirements.

· Prepare comprehensive sourcing business cases, including commercial analysis, supplier recommendations, risk assessments, and cost-benefit evaluations for presentation to Sourcing Committees and leadership teams.

· Secure sourcing approvals through governance processes and drive implementation of approved sourcing strategies, supplier nominations, and project execution plans.

What your background should look like

  • Graduate Degree holder from any stream –Engineering only
  • Strong analytical abilities, and high proficiency creating and managing advanced models using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Good knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP-system.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills with CFTs

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

 

  • 10+ years working experience in Procurement or Sourcing or Supply Chain functions
  • Solid experience driving Cost Reduction and Data Analytics strategies & implementation
  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Data Analytical tools and Data Management would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
